2020 New TPC Board Members

Jennifer Angarita, M.P.P.
Jennifer brings strategy, operations, and program evaluation experience to non-profits and community development finance institutions. Currently, Jennifer serves as a community loan fund officer at BlueHub Capital, where she conducts business development, credit and social impact analysis, and ongoing portfolio management. Her experience spans multiple fields including labor, community development, and philanthropy. She is 2017 Opportunity Finance Fellow, a 2017 New Leaders Council Fellow, and served as a Sheila C. Johnson Fellow at the Harvard Center for Public Leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Yale University and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

 

Valerie Basnight
Val is a Development and Event Professional who has spent 17 years supporting small businesses and non-profit organizations. She’s the Owner of L.I.R. Productions, a PR + Production Agency specializing in marketing, brand management, and event production. Through her agency, she sponsors two event series for entrepreneurs – the Small Biz Buffet and The Moonlighters Club Showcase. Her philanthropic interests include supporting women, youth, and at-risk communities. Val is a member of the Junior League of Boston where she coordinates trainings for women looking to deepen their service to non-profits, as well as trainings for women interested in serving as Board Members. Val sits on the Development Committee & Young Philanthropist Initiative Committee at The Philanthropy Connection, and she volunteers at Quincy’s Interfaith Social Services Agency where she serves on their Gala Committee. Formerly she was the Director of Development at the Cambridge Women’s Center and currently she supports Madison Park Development Corporation, Hibernian Hall, and The Dewitt Center in Roxbury. Val is originally from Pasadena, California where she attended Westridge School for Girls, she was a debutante through the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and she graduated from Simmons College in Boston where she studied Psychology and Gender & Cultural Studies.

 

Kathy Dunigan
Kathy is an IT project manager who currently holds the title of Vice President at State Street. She devotes most of her professional time to managing large-scale mission-critical projects throughout their full life cycles and is frequently credited for her ability to create controls and standards and develop repeatable processes that benefit both the bank and its clients. Prior to joining State Street, Kathy held IT-related positions at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Fannie Mae, and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). On her own time, Kathy has taken on several long-term volunteer commitments. Kathy found the New England Home for Little Wanderers more than 20 years ago, assumed the role of “big sister” to an 11-year-old boy (who is now over 30), and maintains a significant presence in his life to this day. Additionally, she volunteered at the Cambridge Public Library — her hometown library — designing the curriculum and training assistant teachers for the basic computer skills course she taught to adults for more than six years. Kathy earned a B.A. in political science and psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She has spent some of her happiest moments since then indulging her love of travel including achieving her goal of visiting all 50 states before she turned 50.

 

Bridget Dunn
Bridget is a software product management professional focused on building dynamic technology solutions for challenging user problems. Currently with Fidelity Investments, she has previously worked in the FinTech and P&C insurance software spaces as well as consulted for private clients. After joining TPC as a Fellow, Bridget has enjoyed serving the organization as a grant team captain, grantee liaison, and member of the Young Philanthropist Initiative. Originally from Michigan, Bridget is now proud to call Natick home and is passionate about supporting organizations and communities in the MetroWest area. Bridget holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Peace & Justice Studies from Wellesley College and is an M.B.A. candidate at Bentley University concentrating in Information Systems and Technology.

 

Leslie Levenson
Leslie spent the first half of her career as an Occupational Therapist in the field of mental health. Earning her Master’s from Tufts University, she managed inpatient programs and led vocational training at New York Hospital, Silver Hill Hospital, and Massachusetts Mental Health Center. Leslie embarked on her philanthropic career while raising three children in Boxford, volunteering and serving on boards at church, school, and in the community. In 2009, she founded Community Giving Tree, a non-profit organization serving low income children, and Twice Loved Toys, a social enterprise supporting the organization. After 15 years as Executive Director, she stepped down when she and her husband moved to Brookline. Leslie currently works part time at Uncommon Threads, a non-profit women’s clothing boutique, and is on the Boston Advisory Board for Budget Buddies. She and her husband enjoy traveling the world and relaxing in Maine.

 

Jennifer Morrison
Jennifer is a life-long educator, deeply committed to helping teachers develop their practice throughout their careers. She started her professional life as a classroom teacher before landing at Wheelock College as director of the Curriculum Resource Center. For the next 15 years, she worked on school reform in the Boston Public Schools. During this time, she served on the board of the Brookline Education Foundation. Currently she is a consultant with the Teaching and Learning Alliance and also works with BPS fellows in the Passion to Teach project. Through TPC she became interested in the foster care system and volunteers as a CASA worker and Special Education Surrogate Parent. She lives in Boston with her husband and in her free time enjoys making ceramics and playing with her new grandson.
