Join us for the third of our TPC Dialogue series, Education and Activism, which will be moderated by Chad d’Entremont, Executive Director of the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy. He is responsible for shepherding the organization’s mission to improve public education through deep knowledge and evidence of effective policymaking and practice.
Grantee speakers will be:
Samuel Acevedo, Executive Director, Boston HERC Boston HERC equips Latino and other disadvantaged youth and their families to obtain a higher education, break the grip of poverty, and become agents of change in the community. Sam was a member of the search committee for the Boston Public School Superintendent.
Judi King, Executive Director, The Wily Network Wily Scholars are promising students who are experiencing life challenges such as homelessness or foster care, or whose parents may be dealing with addiction, mental health issues, or incarceration. Judi feels the strongest connection to children whose families are not able to support them.
Yi-Chin Chen, Executive Director, Friends of the Children - Boston FOTC is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing youth facing the toughest challenges with 12.5 years of continuous professional mentoring from kindergarten to high school graduation. No matter what.
