Join us for another Volunteer Day with
    TPC grantee BEST Hospitality Training

TPC has been asked once again to provide volunteers to conduct mock interviews for former Grantee BEST Hospitality Training. Mock interviews are part of BEST’s Job Seeker Program, in which students attend an Introduction to Hospitality/Housekeeping Pre-Apprenticeship class. Graduates will all be applying for hotel housekeeping positions, and these interviews are meant to simulate a “real” employment interview to help build the students’ confidence and identify additional training opportunities. The interviews will be videotaped with each student will review them later with his or her career coach.

Each interview will take about 10 minutes, with a selection of questions provided by BEST. After each interview, you will be asked to provide written notes and feedback, which will provide valuable information for the career coaches to review with students.

There are slots still available for the early shift = from 9:30 to 11:00. Parking/public transportation details are provided when you register.

    Any questions, please email connect@thephilanthropyconnection.org.

Join us for our Dialogue about Accessing Health Care – For People on the Margins

This season's Dialogue Series has focused on access to various services, including legal, educational, and mentoring programs - for people on the margins of society. In March, we turn our attention to health care.

Come for the evening and hear from three outstanding leaders in health care:

Roseanna H. Means, MD, is the Founder, President, and Chief Medical Officer of TPC Grantee Health Care Without Walls, a non-profit dedicated to providing free, compassionate medical care as well as education and advocacy for homeless women and children in greater Boston.

Leah Kelly, Psy.D., is the Executive Director of TPC Grantee Adolescent Consultation Services, a non-profit agency that operates the Juvenile Court Clinics for the Middlesex County Juvenile Courts and provides evaluation, treatment, and advocacy services for court-involved children and families.

Jessie Gaeta, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, a non-profit that provides or assures access to the highest quality health care for all homeless individuals and families in the greater Boston area. Jessie is a nationally renowned expert in harm reduction, with a focus on the opioid crisis, and in connecting those underserved and disconnected from traditional means of health care with pathways to treat substance use disorder. She has been at the forefront of the Massachusetts Medical Society’s move to endorse the piloting of a supervised injection facility in the Commonwealth, offering her expertise on harm reduction and addiction.

Please RSVP today for what is sure to be a provocative, inspiring, and informative conversation.
